This is the weekend of the Altadena Comedy Festival, which will happen in the Backstage area, so there will be a lot of people milling around, and maybe coverting from the dark side of performing (much of comedy) to the light (us, of course in the front).
Julie (our hostess who owns The Coffee Gallery) has begun a "chef of the day" program this week, and tonight the chef is preparing tri-tip and pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese and cole slaw. There may be more, but you have to come down to see. Sounds like good old comfort food to me.
Of course, the Open Mic begins at 8pm(ish), and continues until we get done (often around 11pm). Everyone gets to do one song, but once we are through the list anyone left gets to do another. Sometimes if the list is short we get multiple go-rounds. You do NOT have to be here early to sign up, but can sign up whenever you arrive.
