Friday 9/30/11 Open Mic w/ Pulled Pork Sandwiches and more

This is the weekend of the Altadena Comedy Festival, which will happen in the Backstage area, so there will be a lot of people milling around, and maybe coverting from the dark side of performing (much of comedy) to the light (us, of course in the front).

Julie (our hostess who owns The Coffee Gallery) has begun a "chef of the day" program this week, and tonight the chef is  preparing tri-tip and pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese and cole slaw.  There may be more, but you have to come down to see.  Sounds like good old comfort food to me.

Of course, the Open Mic begins at 8pm(ish), and continues until we get done (often around 11pm).  Everyone gets to do one song, but once we are through the list anyone left gets to do another.  Sometimes if the list is short we get multiple go-rounds.  You do NOT have to be here early to sign up, but can sign up whenever you arrive.

Swoops' World Swoops in for Sunday's Open Mic, 6/12/11

Swoops liked us so much for his live Intenet Radio show last month that he is going to make us a regular stop.  The second Sunday of each month he will broadcast live from The Open Mic at The Coffee Gallery Frontstage.  That means tonight, 6/12/11.

Friday's Open Mic of 5/27/11 will have a Surprise Guest Host

We have been having amazing open mics - and we are getting into the groove like before the County of Los Angeles decided that they needed to extort money from The Coffee Gallery in order to have people park in the street and to sing to each other.  Really.

So come on out.  Duane and Donna will be arriving late so there will be a surprise guest host.  I expect it will be a great event.  After all, it is YOU who are the stars here.

Come on Down Friday or Sunday Nights

The offerings depend upon YOU for both the entertainment (musicians and such) and the audience.  Fun starts at about 8PM, and you can sign up late or early.  We allow each person to perform one song, though an act with more than one person MAY do two.  That way we hope that we can come around again and everyone can get up to perform at least two times.

What a NIGHT! February 14th, Valentine's Day was great

oy, everyone pulled out all the stops tonight.  Being Valentine's Day, I was worried that we would not have a great show, but this was the best EVER!  We had performances by a veritable constellation of stellar performances.  Just take a look at these great performance.
